WHO WE SUPPORT
The Crisis Care Chaplaincy serves first responders, law enforcement, fire fighters, EMS, and people experiencing traumatic events in the Bis/Man area.
The Chaplaincy is designed to support the efforts of its service agencies by offering spiritual guidance and assistance to persons confronted with crisis experiences.
The Chaplaincy shall further serve as a communication link between persons in crisis and their own spiritual advisors.
The Chaplaincy shall seek to coordinate follow-up counseling for those indicating both a need and interest in such help.
The Chaplaincy will seek to lighten the burden of its service agencies personnel by performing such tasks which tend to have greater spiritual, rather than legal, implications, i.e. death messages, emergency calls, spiritual counseling requests, etc.
The Chaplaincy will be available at the request of members of its service agencies to minister to them and their families in times of illness, injury, sorrow and tension. The Chaplain(s) shall not in any way replace the individual’s own pastor, priest, rabbi or spiritual adviser. The Chaplains will be available, if called upon by the agency, for consultation on matters that fall within purview of the Chaplaincy and aid in areas of public relations.
The Chaplaincy shall coordinate requests for spiritual counsel to persons incarcerated and seeking help. It will provide a ministry to the families of those persons detained, seeking to create a climate conducive to the rehabilitation of the offender and the welfare of his/her family.
The Chaplaincy will seek to minister to public safety agencies that respond to emergency situations.
